What is a machine job shop?

A machine job shop makes the parts that go into other products.  We’re here to facilitate all other manufacturers that have products needing parts - we make those parts.

What kind of parts do you make for what kind of industries?

We have made everything from a special screw for a medical implant, to a fully assembled working machine such as a robot or a machine to stamp parts, to thousands of individual parts that go into trucks, satellite antennas, linear accelerators and aircraft.

How do I provide Halsey with a job design?

You can send the blueprint as a fax, as a DXF DWG IGES file or as a solid part file electronically by email.  Alternately upon visiting, you can bring us an idea … we have even taken ideas scratched out on the back of a cocktail napkin.

How soon can you turn my job around? How soon do you want it? We are a busy shop but we have flexibility to expedite certain jobs on an as-needed basis within reasonable parameters and depending on the scope of the job.

How do you quote the job?

Jobs are quoted by evaluating the material, timing, job processes and designated machining required.  Additionally, considerations are made if it is a family of parts or because of the particular history of our relationship. The scope of our quotes range from a single part to the multi-part assembly of a machine.

Can you provide the material or should I?

Either way, whatever is best for you.

What if I have only one part to mill at this time; will you still provide your service to me?

Halsey does do one-offs, but of course, we would rather do more. You can obviously save more money the more you require.

Are you able to manufacture a turn-key assembly or part, or just provide the parts? Can you provide other services related to the machine job?

Halsey has resources to tap into other machine-related services that may not be on-site.  For example, welding and fabrication. As much as possible, we can facilitate turn-key solutions that will simplify and make your job easier.

What kinds of materials can you work? Can you make this part out of _________?

Among the many materials we work with are: aluminum, steel, stainless, brass, copper, and a variety of solid plastics, including Teflon, Delrin, UHMW, PVC and others. We also often work with castings and extrusions. We even worked with pure silver one time!

If this part needs additional finishing processes done such ,as plating or heat-treating, can you help me?

Yes.  Many of our clients need a variety of plating and other processes for the parts we manufacture.

Do you retain the set up and programming information after you’ve made my part the first time?

Normally we do unless otherwise instructed.

How long have you been in business?

    Over 29 years!

    Are you certified?

We have to be! We’ve been in this business for over 25 years! We’re certified MIL-45208A and have a quality control manual.
